Meet Your Maker 007: Finlay Vincent

Drawing on his childhood spent around Kenya’s Mitumba markets and seeing first-hand the environmental cost of fast fashion in landfills piled with waste, Finlay’s creative process always begins with one guiding principle: “designing so something can last.”

Upcycling comes second nature to him, and since day one his personal label has centred on reusing fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill. His signature reversible caps give new life to deadstock textiles and charity-shop shirts.

We teamed up with Finlay on a collaborative project that repurposes fabric from our AW25 collection into a prototype reversible, modular workwear jacket system. As he puts it: “Sometimes it’s about taking what already existed and giving it new value.”

In collaborative partnership with Finlay Vincent. Blacksmith presents Jacket 001 Prototype. An upcycled workwear jacket featuring a complete reversible modular system using both a deadstock raw 20oz Japanese denim and our AW25 Sand Check Blouson.

The jackets modular system includes Pockets, Hood and Collar and enables up to 90 different configurations, giving the user complete freedom to customise it to their

preference.
